Position Overview
The Billing Associate is responsible for preparing claims prior to submission by printing (if applicable), auditing, correcting and compiling information. This is done to obtain a higher collection rate by ensuring all information that is required for payment is accurately submitted.

The successful candidate will demonstrate and maintain a positive style and attitude in accomplishing the overall mission of Alexander Billing & Consulting, Inc: To provide superior auditing, billing and educational services to medical transportation providers in an efficient, professional, and ethical manner.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform Quality Assurance claim check prior to submission.
  • Submit both paper and electronic claims (HCFA, UB92 and Private Pay Statements).
  • Monitor Electronic Billing Software to correct rejected claims.
  • When necessary, investigate motor vehicle accidents (MVA) and victims of crime through local authorities to obtain auto accident reports, legal records and any other documents needed to guarantee payment of services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to help the company meets its goals.
Job Qualifications:
  • Ability to perform tasks independently
  • 1+ years Medical A/R Monitoring/ Billing Experience (Required)
  • Ability to used Windows based software program, and fax/imaging/copy machine (Required)
  • Medical Terminology (Required)
  • ICD-9 Coding Knowledge (Preferred)
  • Exposure to EMS industry (Preferred)
  • Higher Education Degree (Preferred)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
